For as long as I can remember (literally), I've been playing music.  I would bang away on the assortment of African and Indian drums that were lying around my parents' house—I regrettably destroyed a nice pair of tabla using mallets instead of my hands—then moved to the piano at age 5, back to the drums more seriously at 11 or so (school band percussionist, yo), then on to the guitar a couple years later.  When I was about 15 my parents gave in to my pleading and bought me a really really nice synthesizer on which I could sequence full compositions.  Since then I've accumulated a good deal of recording equipment and software, and have been producing a rather larger variety of electro-acoustic music, ranging from rather poppy indie rock kind of stuff to very experimental IDM.  I've been "working on an album" for like 5 years now, and have amassed a ridiculous amount of music in that time... way too much for a single album.  Below are a few selections that may or may not be released soon, not soon, or never.  Also perhaps.

Behind This Smile listen

This track is one of the first pieces I wrote after moving to Madison for college.  I had recently met Hayley German Fisher, a lovely singer-songwriter also from WI, and she agreed to perform vocals for me.  It was great!  Then she moved far away to Seattle.  Blast!  I still have hopes of doing some more recording with her at some point.

Fluits listen

This piece was constructed using a series of recordings of my cousin playing some Bach on her flute.  She needed it for an audition, so I had several versions of the same piece - a great source for experimentation.  I played with their timescales, stretching and reversing them, until the original is unrecognizable.  Then I added some drums and things.  Thanks Sally (and Bach)!
